Always a pleasure to deal with the team at Leonard Joel, they are always willing to help out when i buy multiple items and need them picked up for delivery to Tasmania. I have had smaller delicate items sent by their in house service and they arrive safely every time and are well priced.

I recently had two items in the Asian Sale and they both performed extremely well. One silver Chinese vase in particular, which was illustrated in the catalogue beat all my expectations and I am thrilled with the result. I am more than happy to continue using Joel's as my preferred auction house.
My experience with Leonard Joel has been overwhelmingly negative. Despite winning two items, discrepancies arose between one of the items and its description. Dealing with David Parsons was particularly frustrating; his argumentative and one-sided approach demonstrated a lack of understanding of customer service.
1. They threatened legal action just two days after the auction, despite ongoing discussions with management about my concerns. I offered to pay a management fee and still purchase my second item.
2. I faced threats of being banned from all auctions across Australia.
3. Conflicting information from four different staff members added to the confusion.
4. Natasha's lack of customer service skills escalated the situation. Chiara was the only reasonable person who helped resolve the issue.
Though Natasha eventually improved, she failed to make me feel heard or respected throughout this ordeal. Chiara, on the other hand, deserves appreciation for resolving the matter. Despite this, my overall experience was so negative that I won't be using Leonard Joel again, and I'll be sharing my experience on social media. A suggestion for Leonard Joel would be to remove staff lacking respect for customers and hire individuals who make customers feel appreciated.
There is always a way to go about things, professionally, regardless of the customers concerns or the staff members personal views. You are meant to be representing an “large” organisation..
Leonard Joel is a great auction house. I have bought over many years and have recently sold with them. The main thing is that they are honest and professional and that is everything. I most recently dealt with Indigo and it was an absolute pleasure. I found her to be generous with her time and advice and very knowledgable. I couldnt be happier. I will be selling more as I downsize.
As a first time seller i wasn't sure what to expect but the whole team are very good at their job. Dropped the sterling silver goods off on the Monday everything sold on the Thursday within or very close to the estimated range and full documentation supplied detailing all the costs and final outcome the next day. Funds deposited as advised on the Friday 8 days after the sale. I would definitely use them again.
I've purchased a lot of great pieces from Joel's the last few months. I've made a couple of mistakes but overall very happy with most of my buys
